Player Spotlight Template

A recurring feature post — one player, volunteer, or club identity per fortnight. Fill in Inputs, then ask Claude to draft the three versions.

Inputs

  • Name: full name
  • Role: player (grade, position), coach, committee, volunteer, life member
  • Games / years at club: approximate is fine
  • Background: where they grew up / played junior footy / joined MKFC
  • Career highlight at MKFC: best & fairest, premiership, milestone game, etc.
  • Off-field: what they do outside footy — job, family, study
  • Why MKFC?: one quote (1–2 sentences) on what the club means to them
  • Fun fact: optional — a quirk teammates would recognise
  • Photo: action shot or portrait in club gear

Voice notes

  • Warm, human, specific. Avoid generic “great clubman” filler — pull out one real detail.
  • Get a direct quote from the player wherever possible.
  • Use first name on second reference after introducing full name.
  • Refer to the brand guide for any graphic treatment.

Facebook version (target 120–200 words)

Structure:

  1. Headline: “Player Spotlight — [Name]” or “Meet the Roos: [Name]”.
  2. Snapshot: role, games/years at club.
  3. Path to MKFC: 2–3 sentences on their background.
  4. On-field: position, strengths, highlight.
  5. Off-field: job/family/interests.
  6. Quote from the player on what the club means to them.
  7. Closing line: “Next time you’re at [home ground], say g’day to [first name].”

Instagram caption (target 60–100 words)

Structure:

  1. Hook: “Meet [Name] — [one-line descriptor, e.g. ‘centre half-back, 80 games, full-time sparky’].”
  2. Two-sentence story (joining MKFC + a highlight).
  3. Pull-quote from the player.
  4. CTA: “Full feature on Facebook.” (if cross-posting)
  5. Hashtags: #MKFC #GoRoos #PlayerSpotlight #CommunityFooty #SFNL.

Image guidance:

  • Portrait tile: photo on the left, royal blue #013087 panel on the right with white DIN Condensed name and role. Light blue #C8D6F0 accent line allowed.
  • Use the white/reversed logo on the royal blue panel.
  • Alt text required — describe the person and setting.
